NCRI Releases Report on Iran IRGC Terrorist Training Centers

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI ) held a press conference to release its report on the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force command headquarters for terrorist training. The conference will be held at the NCRI office in Washington D.C. at 10:30 am eastern on February 14, 2017.
The conference focused on the types of training being done in Iran, but where the fighters are being sent, what is involved in the training and the names of those commanders who are currently involved in the training camps. In addition, using satellite imagery, the NCRI showed the locations of the training camps within Iran.

These training camps demonstrate that Iran is exporting terrorism by training cells and dispatching them around the world, but focusing their efforts on the Middle East and unstable countries, such as Iraq, Syria and Yemen.
The NCRI compiled their report using information from the social network of the PMOI/MEK within Iran. The PMOI/MEK (People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran) was formed in 1965 and is the largest and more organized Iranian opposition movement. It is the main component of the coalition, National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI). The MEK has been key in gathering intelligence about what is really going on within Iran, particularly in regards to human rights issues and the regime’s nuclear activities.
The MEK also has a large amount of support in theU.S. Congress. Hearings at the House and Senate were held to support the safety of thousands of MEK members in camps Ashraf and Liberty in Iraq. This group has been at the forefront of the opposition against the Iranian regime since it came into power in 1979.
The NCRI offers a 10-point plan focused onaddressing the economy, human rights violations and key internal issues withinIran. “MEK’s modern, tolerant and democratic view on Islam has been the antithesis to the Islamic fundamentalists and the velayat-e faquih system,” according to Iran Focus News and Analysis.

The result is that the group has also been the main focus of the Iranian regime’s repression efforts. The Iranian lobby has also worked hard to smear the MEK’s reputation within the international community. Despite these efforts, including attempting to have the MEK declared a terrorist organization and a cult, the movement has gained international support as an alternative to the current Iranian regime.
